Thesis Title: Anthropology of Medical Research in Rural Senegal
About
I am a Social Anthropologist, working at the « Institut de Recherche pour le Développement » (IRD) as a post-doctoral researcher. I am currently involved in a program called Memorial and Remains of Medical Research in Africa (MEREAF), in collaboration with European and North American historians and anthropologists.

My research interests focus on medical research in developing countries, ethical issues in biomedicine and anthropology. So far, I have mainly conducted research in Senegal (West Africa) on these topics. I am also interested in visual anthropology, ethnographic theories, and restitution initiatives.
My first interest in Human Science was in Psychology that I studied for two years. Then, I joined the field of Anthropology and worked in various non-western contexts (Africa, India, Mongolia) as well as in Europe (France) on social issues regarding access to primary health care, patient-doctor relations, and more broadly the application of international and national recommendations in the field of HIV/AIDS, Oncology and Clinical Trials.
The research program I am currently working in represents an opportunity for me to explore a new type of ethnography, in which I will use photographic portraits to collect ethnographic data and communicate on the theme of memory.
I am a member and the treasurer of the AMADES.
